Service and Support Update From February 1, 2011 thru May 31, 2011 (called the "transition period") Juniper will be offering Trapeze support under Juniper part numbers. In June, these products will be rolled into the Juniper product family, there will be new WLAN support part numbers and the familiar set of Juniper hardware replacement options and standard models of Juniper Care support and Operate Specialist support will come into effect (further communication will be sent on this at a later date). In June, the "transition period" WLAN part numbers in the February-May Price Lists will be EOL'd. 

Juniper Part Numbers

During the transition period (Feb-May) Trapeze support part numbers will be in the Juniper Price List.

  • First  set of letters is direct support or partner model, and term of contract:
    SVC, PAR:  one year contract
    SV3, PA3:  three year contract
    SV5, PA5:  five year contract
  • Second set of letters (TP) means Trapeze.
  • Third and fourth set of letters/digits is the hardware model type:
    WLC:  Wireless LAN Controller
    WLA:  Wireless LAN Access Point
NOTE: all Trapeze part numbers in the Juniper Price List represent one level of support: 8x5 Next Day Ship

Ordering

During the transition period (Feb-May) the ordering process is as follows:
  • You must use the EMEA (Cat 4) price on the Juniper Care (SVC) price list
  • SVC Cat 2 pricing will not be in the external Juniper price lists until April - therefore, partners and distributors must contact their Juniper Partner Account Manager (PAM) for the SVC pricing until full pricing is published in April.
  • If new support is required contact your distribution partner for pricing. (Distribution will need to manually load the pricing until its published in April pricelist).
  • For renewals, distribution must obtain quote from renewals team and provide the reseller with a renewal quote.
  • Standard Juniper Juniper Care (SVC) discount models apply with a recommended discount off list to the reseller of 16%, both new and renewals.
